Chairman’s Chat

First of all, may I wish all Yorkshire Region members a very Happy New Year.

Since my last update we have seen the busy festive season pass us by and I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas celebrations.
Hopefully many of you were able to visit one of the many New Year meets put on by the DAs and Sections in our area.

This year we decided to book with Huddersfield DA and stayed at their New Year meet at Storthes Hall near Kirkburton.
What a fabulous site this is with its wonderful grounds and graceful buildings. Truly a great place to spend your time, great surroundings matched only by the friendly reception we all received from everyone at the meet.
The entertainment and catering were first class, keeping us so busy enjoying ourselves, we only left the site once, to stock up from the supermarket and to sample a nice pub lunch on the way back.
The mild weather was a bonus and even the light drizzle eventually dried up to give us a pleasant journey home. So a great time was had by all and HDA members deserve great credit for all their hard work.

As the new camping season approaches, there is much work to be done as we come to the period of the year where all the meetings take place that finalise planning for this year’s events.
Lots of people give up their free time to make sure we get our camping fix and they deserve our thanks.

Following those, we start with the very busy period when all the Region’s DAs hold their AGMs. So there will be plenty of early meets for us to attend, why not try one, there is usually some social function to enjoy and it can be a rewarding experience.

Looking forward to this year’s camping, please remember to support the Region Meet at Carlton Towers on the 3rd weekend in June.
CYDA are hosting the meet and are preparing an event that will be really entertaining and no doubt a truly memorable weekend.
